London Street

In a house in London Street there have been several reports of sounds of  footsteps on the stairs when no one was present. When the Inner City Trust were refurbishing this building some of the people who worked there refused to work alone in the building because of the strange noises.

One person felt a touch on the shoulder and when he turned around there was a tall man with indistinct features dressed in dark clothes. The workman was so terrified that he was unable to move and as he watched, the man disappeared right before his eyes. Other workmen were disbelieving thinking that it was a joke being played but when the same thing happened to them they realised that it was a ghostly happening.

Later when the building was being used as an office sounds were heard frequently on the stairs. When they were investigated no explanation could be found since there appeared to be no one there.

Another worker heard footsteps approach him, stop beside him and then move on, leaving a clammy coldness in the air. In recent times there have been no further reports of these inexplicable happenings.
