St. Brigid’s Avenue

Another story situated in the Pennyburn area is that of the appearance of some sort of spirit in a house in St. Brigid’s Avenue.

A young man who was a student was staying in the house overnight. He was having a chat with his friend who lived there when the door to the front hall gently opened and he saw the figure of a woman dressed in an old-fashioned long grey dress standing in the hall looking at him until she disappeared.

He thought he was seeing things and went to the hall door to check if someone was playing a trick on him. The back door burst open with a huge gust of wind and the wind gathered in a tornado like spin finally forming the shape of a woman.

The student took to his heels and ran all the way to his own home.
